Some believe the heart and the soul are one and the same but it is the heart and the mind which makes a soul, not one or the other. El Ruiseñor y La Rosa is the first painting of the Transformation Series, and is therefore the creative foundation for the subsequent paintings that encompass my inspiration for this work.
